Tangkuban Perahu

Tangkuban Perahu is one of West Java’s most important tourist attractions which sits just north of Bandung on the outskirts of the town of Lembang. Most visitors to Tangkuban Perahu are from Indonesia and choose to drive their own vehicles the 4km to the top of the volcano from the entrance gate.

The main reason Tangkuban Perahu is so popular is that it is one of the few volcanoes in Indonesia where it is possible to drive right to the edge of the crater. In fact, there are three main craters at Tangkuban Perahu — Kawah Ratu, Kawah Upas and Kawah Domas.Kawah Ratu is the biggest of the craters and is the one that has the carpark on the edge of it. Most people stop here only and don’t elect to skirt around the edge the second crater, Kawah Upas. However they are missing out because around at Kawah Upas there are wild monkeys in the trees.White monkey @ Tangkuban PerahuKawah Domas is the third crater and it is located a long walk through the forest from the main carpark. In this location it is possible to bathe your legs and take a rest.

As with all tourist attractions in Indonesia, there are many shops in the Tangkuban Perahu area selling all kinds of knick-knacks and food. The food in some of these warungs is pretty good and it’s worth dropping in to try some of the local flavours such as nasi bakar. Some may simply choose to stick with something well-known like nasi goreng. There are also some tasty gorengan fried snacks to be had if you’re into that sort of thing. Mmmm….

Dewa Athena

21st February 2015 was the first day of Dewa Athena. Dewa Athena is a sport event in SMA 3 Bandung that consists many sports competition, such as futsal, basketball, badminton, dodgeball, relay race, table tennis, and tug of war. Dewa Athena is an abbrevation of "Olimpiade Siswa-Siswi Ajang Unjuk Bakat dan Kemampuan". It was held from February to May. The last day of Dewa Athena is held at the same time with Paman Gober, an event where we had to ride our bikes.

We gathered at Bali Field around 08.00. It was opened by the speech of the headmaster of SMA 3 Bandung, Mr. Encang Iskandar, the president of student council, Yasyril Mumtaz, and the chief of Dewa Athena, Nissa Febriani. And MC of that event are Firza Haikal and Nadya Rahmani.

After the opening, we had to run around SMA 3 Bandung, or we usually called it as "Keliling Indonesia". We ran passing through many streets, and when we back to the Bali Field, the committees squirted us some paints to our clothes. So our clothes were so colorful that day.

Because our class, X IPA 8, had no schedule that day, so we just watching other class competition. Although we didn't play, we still had so much fun.

Arctic Hares

Photo: An arctic hare rests in the snow

The arctic hare lives in the harsh environment of the North American tundra. These hares do not hibernate, but survive the dangerous cold with a number of behavioral and physiological adaptations. They sport thick fur and enjoy a low surface area to volume ratio that conserves body heat, most evident in their shortened ears. These hares sometimes dig shelters in snow and huddle together to share warmth.

Hares are a bit larger than rabbits, and they typically have taller hind legs and longer ears. Like other hares and rabbits, Arctic hares are fast and can bound at speeds of up to 40 miles (60 kilometers) an hour. In winter, they sport a brilliant white coat that provides excellent camouflage in the land of ice and snow. In spring, the hare's colors change to blue-gray in approximation of local rocks and vegetation.

Arctic hares are sometimes loners but they can also be found in groups of dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of individuals. Unlike many mammals, arctic hare groups disperse rather than form during mating season. Animals pair off and define mating territories, though a male may take more than one female partner.

Females give birth to one litter per year, in spring or early summer. Two to eight young hares grow quickly and by September resemble their parents. They will be ready to breed the following year.
Food can be scarce in the Arctic, but the hares survive by eating woody plants, mosses, and lichens which they may dig through the snow to find in winter. In other seasons they eat buds, berries, leaves, roots, and bark.

Traditionally, the arctic hare has been important to Native Americans. These fairly plentiful animals are hunted as a food resource and for their fur, which is used to make clothing.

Isn't She Lovely

“Isn’t She Lovely” is inspired by the birth of Stevie’s daughter — both lyrically and sonically — as it features the cries of Stevie’s baby on the track. The baby's name is Aisha, means life, new life, living.

The "wonder" of this expression of thanksgiving was that he "saw" this miracle of life not with his eyes, but on a much deeper level . . . with his senses and his heart.

Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and activist who happens to be blind.

Born on May 13, 1950 as Stevland Hardaway Judkins, his name was later changed by his mother to Stevland Hardaway Morris when she left his father. Becoming blind shortly after birth, Stevland developed into a musical talent at an very early age. Upon signing with Motown Records' Tamla label at the age of eleven, he was dubbed "Little Stevie Wonder" by record producer, Berry Gordy. Of course as Wonder became a young adult, he dropped the "Little" from his stage name and is forever known as Stevie Wonder.

Needless to say, "Isn't She Lovely" written and performed by Stevie Wonder continues to inspire millions even today.

Isn't She Lovely lyrics :

Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely made from love

Isn't she lovely
Life and love are the same
Life is Aisha
The meaning of her name
Londie, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That's so very lovely made from love

Light Pillar

LIGHT PILLAR PICTURES: Mysterious Sky Shows Explained

Light pillar is a visual phenomenon created by the reflection of light from icecrystals with near horizontal parallelplanar surfaces. The light can come from the Sun (usually at or low to the horizon) in which case the phenomenon is called a sun pillar or solar pillar. It can also come from the Moon or from terrestrial sources such as streetlights.

Light pillars are a kind of optical phenomenon which is formed by the reflection of sunlight or moonlight by ice crystals that are present in the Earth's atmosphere. They are also called the crystal beam phenomenon. The light pillar looks like a thin column that extends vertically above and/or below the source of light. The light pillar is prominently visible when the Sun is low or lies below the horizon. It normally forms an arc that extends from five to ten degrees beyond the solar disc. Light pillars can sometimes also be seen arising from the Moon.Light pillars are formed by reflection from ice crystals with roughly horizontal faces.Light pillars have also been known to produce UFO reports. Niagara Falls is one such area, where the mist from the Niagara Falls causes the phenomenon to appear frequently during the winter months, where the ice crystals interact with the city's many upward facing spotlights to create prominent light pillars.Light pillars could also be formed by man-made light sources, such as streetlights.

My Last Holiday

After i got my report card, which is the result isn't bad at all, finally the holiday -that i've waited for so long- came. 24th December was the first day of holiday. After all the school things was done, and knowing that Holiday was near already, i feel so excited. Because studying in this school is really exhausting, so Holiday is really awaited for all of us.

I stayed at home for the entire Holiday. Spending all my time with watching movies, reading novels, and sleeping. I went to some mall sometimes for buying novels, because searching novels that i want to read is really interesting. And bookstores atmosphere is really calming and i feel comfortable. Beside going to bookstore i also eat some foods and in the end i ended up watching movies again.

I've gained lot of weight in holiday. Because i really love to eat and only in holiday i feel so free to eat anything i want. I learned to cook some simple snacks with my sister and it's really fun. At least my cooking skill improved-eventhough it's really a bit-.

On New Year's Eve, me and my family went to punclut to see fireworks. We get our dinner there, and eat some grilled corn. When it was 00.00 already, i saw so many fireworks in the sky. Punclut really has the best view to see fireworks. I saw the beauty of Bandung when midnight there.

Days went by quite fast. I didn't even realize that one week of holiday that left. On Monday i have to go to school for improve our skill on playing angklung because we will have a concert on March. I went to school everyday until it was the last day of holiday. I feel sad because i have to go to school again, meet homeworks, and have to face exam again. But i enjoy this holiday and i will wait for the next holiday come.
